1. The best tool to use to grind or puree food is a hand turned food mill that has different settings.
2. Use storage containers and ice cube trays to refrigerate or freeze extra portions.
3. Choose fresh fruits and vegetables and try to use them within one or two days.
4. Avoid feeding your child carrots, beets, green beans, spinach and squash in the first three months.
5. All vegetables should be cooked before pureeing or grinding.
6. When preparing fruits and vegetables, add liquid until the consistency is soupy.
7. Remove skin and fat from meat and poultry before cooking.
8. Food should be served no warmer than body temperature.
9. Never use honey or corn syrup.
10. Leave out spices until your baby is at least 8-9 months old.
